Every thought begins as something intangible, a flicker in the mind. But when we give it our energy and attention, it starts to take shape.

Think of a thought as a seed floating through the air. You get to choose where it lands — on barren ground or fertile soil. When you focus on a thought, you’re watering it, helping it grow stronger.

At first, it exists only in the mind. But as you feed it, it becomes a thought form — it anchors itself in your body through emotion.

For example:
A stressful thought can trigger a physical response. Your heart races, your muscles tighten, your breath shortens. The more you feed that thought, the more it takes root, the stronger the sensations in your body.

Keep feeding it, and it evolves into a life form. You start to live in a state of stress, even when nothing’s wrong. Eventually, it can become a compulsion, shaping your behaviour and dictating how you live.

That’s the power of thought — it can create, or it can confine.

Applying this to work and life

Where attention goes, energy flows.

My coach Grainne guides and nurtures all of me, as a leader and as a human being.
